I haven't had it for nearly 3 months.

I was sick for nearly a month and all i could eat was bread and water.

i wasn't really sure what i had but I lost ALOT of weight

I heard that if you have poor nutrition you'll be late

well is it permanent? or is it until it gets all the nutrients it needs?

Yeah, sudden changes in weight and/or eating habits can affect the hormones that keep your period going regularly. It's the same for someone who works out or becomes more athletic after a time of being a couch potato and such.

Depending on what made you sick though, it shouldn't be permanent (meaning as long as it wasn't anything in your reproductive system that made you sick). Chances are, your body is still healing itself and getting itself back in sync with everything. I don't know if you're interested, but if you're into natural remedies, Vitex (aka Chaste Tree Berry) extract works really well to getting your hormones back on track. I've had problems with my period at times too and I've been taking Vitex now for about two years and it's got me regulated again. It's also really good for when you get off the birth control pill. Also, Blue Cohosh is good for helping to get your period started. If you're the type like me that doesn't want to taste the extracts, just fill up an empty capsule and take it that way. All of these are available at the natural foods store. Don't expect changes overnight though. Vitex especially takes time to work because it works gently.

Anyway, that sucks that you were sick like that for a month... =( I'm glad you're okay now though, and I hope I've helped. =)

My advice to you my dear is go see a doctor. Obviously you have some stress in your life. It is not permanent unless your menapausal age. Stress does cause you to miss a period or be late but three months without a period and being as sick as you are(were) losing weight and not eating right, you do need to seek medical attention ok. Good luck! :)

It depends on how long you have had your period , when I was your age I went through somethin like this and it was my period regulating itself. BUT, every case is very different and it is important that you see your doctor often during this time in your life. Nothing scarey or deadly just changes in your body that probably need to be regulated properly.

Major weight loss can cause that(happened to me).

I'd ask your dok just to make sure.
