You can get most certified copies of birth records from the county in which they were born - just write to City Hall etc. You can prepare the request but your mother must sign it. You can also request a record from the State Vital Records Dept in the capitol city BUT is costs more than at county level plus it takes much longer to get. How do I know? I worked for Social Security 32 years as a claims rep & processed many a claim filed by someone w/o their birth record. PS: If you need it for Social Security they also accept baptismal or christening records if it was done before age 5. Then you can contact the church.

You can't order via internet because a signature is needed. But you can request addresses. Input city hall address (county) (state). or input birth records (capitol city) (state). It should give the costs of the document.

You need to go to the official web site of the county that she was born in. They will have instructions for obtaining the birth record.

Check out the state website that you were born in. If you are looking to receive your birth record. Remember they will not give you your birth record for free. There is always a fee.

I think that if you need a birth certificate, you have to go to the county clerk's office in the county that she was born in. I'm not 100% sure about that, so I would give the county clerk a call. They will be able to tell you.

You will likely have to go directly to the state government where she was born. You used to be able to order copies online but too many identities were stolen.
