I'm a cna and I never heard of this before, it's been prescribed to somone that I've been taking care of and it makes them act really wierd

Hydroxyzine pamoate is designated chemically as 1-(p-chlorobenzhydryl) 4-
[2-(2-hydroxyethoxy) ethyl] diethylenediamine salt of 1,1′-methylene bis (2 hydroxy-
3-naphthalene carboxylic acid).

Inert ingredients for the capsule formulations are: hard gelatin capsules (which may contain
Yellow 10, Green 3, Yellow 6, Red 33, and other inert ingredients); magnesium stearate; sodium
lauryl sulfate; starch; sucrose.

Inert ingredients for the oral suspension formulation are: carboxymethylcellulose sodium; lemon
flavor; propylene glycol; sorbic acid; sorbitol solution; water.

The Generic would be Vistaril.

It's an antihistamine with muscle-relaxing, anti emetic,anxiety reducing properties. It's a relatively older drug. If the client who you are taking care of is elderly it could be causing confusion, nightmares excitement.....If they are experiencing any of these or the like maybe the Doctor should be notified they could be having a negative reaction to the drug if they have only recently started to take it!

it is generic name for vistaril,,,,,calms a person....many dentists prescribe it prior to appt
