Some background info:

He is a 22 year old bisexual guy who has only ever dated girls. We've been casual friends for about three years, and this summer we hung out quite a bit. Over the past few weeks we spent more and more time together, almost getting to that 'well should we date' point, but suddenly he stopped all participation. I do not want to bother him if he is not interested, but I don't want to let this go if there's still a possibility of a relationship.

Any advice is welcomed.

To be honest, the answer lies in amongst bits and pieces of all these answers. Talk to him, tell him how you feel and give him the chance to do the same. Yes, there are risks when dating a Bi guy, but take it one step at a time. The first thing you need to establish is whether you have got enough in common to keep a relationship going. So, talk to him and give him the option to spend some time with you. If he's not interested or this is too difficult, then you'll have found out early that this is not the person for you.

the only way i can see for this to work out is to ask him. he may be a little scared of what is happening. he may also think that you dont want it etc.

that or he has been leading you along for a while and now hes scared of what could happen. because hes only ever dated girls he may be a little scared.

i guess that so you dont bother him you should probably just bother him the once and ask him and if there is no sign of a relationship then hopefully you can remain friends. alternatively it will blossom into a grand love.

It's time to just come out and ask. It sounds like he is still working on some issues and you are obviously not pressuring him, which is cool of you. But that's unfair to you to string you along if you could be in a fulfilling romantic relationship with somebody else.

Step one is comunication. Find out what's eating him and work on it. Don't be a menace to him, but do what you can to make him haoppy and keep things interesting
