There will be a lot of speeches, but don't expect major changes in immigration rules until 2009 or later -- almost certainly no changes in 2007 and 2008.

Most likely it will stalled because of the fact no-one wants to take heat to change immigration laws from that 20% of Nativity voters on the left and right. The odds are better for Bush, but Tercedo, and lobby broke even in immigration debate some democrats will not go along with reform. It just means more compromise will occur with a Democratic house. The senate will vote the same on the issues as in 2006. Probably be modification to the amnesty provision most likely Pro badly gonna stalled most likely most likely. Anmesty provision will be the big sticking point of all.

President Bush favors a "comprehensive immigration plan" that allows a guest worker program and amnesty. Before, the Republicans wouldn't pass this type of law. The Democratic Congress might be able to now though.

Hopefully you will have to pay hefty fines to help off set the cost of having you here. If they let you stay you will get at least minimum wage and pay taxes and social security.
