isn't it ironic how the brand Secret is promoting women's self esteem, and being the "real you" but they are a big seller of deodorants, which causes breast cancer?
oh, the hypocrisy!

Actually, I think you might be thinking of Dove and their "Campaign for Real Beauty." Certainly advertising is mainly about the bottom line...but as messages go, this campaign is better than most. I understand that there was a significant reaction to the Super Bowl ad (which was about body image and self esteem in girls.)
Oprah liked it. It certainly beats the Virginia Slims ads, despite their sponsoring of women's sports.
As to deodorants and breast cancer, I hadn't heard that. I'd like to see the clinical research.

Hate to bash on you, but the definition of Irony is anything in which the real meaning is concealed or contradicted by the words used. Therefore your false claim that Secret that promoted women's self esteem causes breast cancer is no way ironically related . If Secret for example promoted being yourself and being the real you but then made clothes for skinny people that would be ironic.

What you are insinuating is that Secret is intentionally poisoning women .with their anti persperant.. THERE IS NO conclusive evidence to suggest that there is a link between deodorant and cancer my dear.

SO ladies keep keeping your b.o. a secret.

There's no solid evidence that deodorant causes breast cancer. You can probably make arguments about chemicals being bad in general, but there's no direct link that they've been able to find.

But, yes, in general, the beauty industry is full of hypocrisy and awfulness.

Sorry, but I don't much want the real me (or the real anybody else, for that matter) to smell like B.O. - ugh! If you want to get "real" - go without a bath, don't brush your teeth, don't wash your hair, etc. and see how people react to the "real" you - but don't come to my house!
