Z for Zachariah - Robert C O'Brien
Z for Zachariah is a gripping, thought-provoking story about life after a nuclear holocaust, by a Newbery Medalist. This novel takes the form of the diary of a girl who survives a nuclear holocaust. She finds herself alone on a remote farm, until a stranger arrives - "Seemingly the only person left alive after a nuclear war, a sixteen-year-old girl is relieved to see a man arrive into her valley until she realizes that he is a tyrant and she must somehow escape."
The Magic Circle - Katherine Neville
Snake River, Idaho, 1989: Ariel Behn, a toxic materials expert, finds her life shattered when her cousin is slain. His shocking death leaves Ariel sole heir to a family legacy: a sinister cache of manuscripts that sweeps her into a mystery than spans the centuries...
Jerusalem, 32 AD: During the last week in the life of Christ, Emperor Tiberius works to decipher an age-old enigma. Whoever assembles and interprets the clues will possess
the power to control the world.
So begins a fascinating journey from the rise of the Roman Empire to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Dean Koontz Novels - Any and All but I especially like those about Odd Thomas.
PS The first persons answer with the novel by Nicholas Sparks - At First Sight - is a Dean Koontz psuedonym

1) Romance of the 3 Kingdoms. This book gives an account of the historical events that took place 2000 years ago in China. It started with the brotherhood of 3 heros, and together they tried to oppose the tyrant (Chao Chao) who was a great military strategist. Ultimately, China was divided by 3 overlords.
2) Great Expectation by Charles Dicken. Common folks' lives were depicted and seen through the eyes of a growing child, Pip, and the heartaches of love lost and found. A poignant tale.
3) Les Miserables. Touches our heart on the pitiful plight of a poor young man, and how he rose through adversities. Before we finished reading, we sometimes wonder why life had been so harsh on a simple person whose only crime was to feed hungry stomachs...........................
