My Jeep has been sitting up for a few months because the water pump went out on it, and I put a new water pump on it, and now it has this sputtering, missing sound when the engine is running. All gauges are fine, except the check engine light comes on but I have had a couple of folks tell me it sounded like a fuel issue. Any Help Would Be Appreciated!!!

The fuel filter/regulator is located on the top of the fuel pump module on top of the tank, but I agree, I doubt that's your problem. You probably forgot to hook up a connector or vacuum line when you did the pump. Get the codes for the CEL and that should point you in the right direction.

Brian, the search I did tells me that there may not be an external auxiliary fuel filter on your vehicle. As crazy as it may sound, it is possible. Chrysler has a way of doing weird stuff sometimes. To be sure, go to your local NAPA auto parts store and have them look in the book. That will tell you for sure weather it is replaceable or not. In fuel injected vehicles, there is a "sock", referred to as a strainer, on the end of the fuel pump. Unfortunately, sometimes that's all there is. It's not right, but hey, I don't design 'em. For a Chrysler product, you will have to know engine and transmission information. Like I said, I don't' design 'em. Almost any part you can think of, you can look up on-line. Go to www.napaonline.com.

Locate the fuel injectors. All of them will be connected to a common fuel rail. Follow the hose or metal tube from there toward the back and under the car until you find it.

I doubt that a fuel filter will fix the problem. You need to get the codes read for the engine light.

it is alongside between the body rails and is roofed through a guard to assist guard it. possibly you probably did not see it as a results of guard. I personal a TJ Wrangler so can't say precisely the position that's. It replaced into switched to the great of the gas tank for the TJs.
