I agree with you there; Passion is and will always be TIMELESS. It is almost as if it's in a class by itself.
The only other that comes to mind is The Color Purple; well written, 1st real major black screen play, awesome actors who all gone on to become great (Oprah, Danny Glover, Whoopi, Laurence Fishburne), great score by a renowned composer(Quincy Jones) and last but not least one of the greatest directors known to man, Steven Spielberg!

Citizen Kane is considered the finest film ever made. It is made by Orson Wells about William Randolph Hearst. The movie is simply brilliant and so far ahead of its time, it s one of the influencial as far as how modern movies are made of all time. But everyone has their personal favorites.

The usual megastar trek sequence captured my creativeness within the 60's. The Enterprise used to be a best send. It had a speaking pc. Who might have recognized it might come to go.

REBECCA, based on the novel of the same name. The best film EVER made. (But I do agree with most of what you said about THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, great film, very difficult to watch.)
