How does a songwriter[country music] go about getting someone in the industry to listen to his music????

I am a singer/songwriter with what I believe are very marketable songs. I am trying to break into the industry as a songwriter, and want the industry professionals to hear my songs and give them a chance. How do I go about this as I have tried direct contacts with no luck. they won't even give them a chance to be heard. any help would be appreciated. serious answers only please

Hire a band and make a demo (many) . Then send the demo to a local radio station without cost to the radio station.

The smaller the radio station, the better the chances your song will be heard....
