I am a lazy bum and didn't want to get up on time today?

My dog went into labor and the puppy was breech so I had to deliver it?

A tree fell on my porch

yea - be in good favor with your boss, they'll let you get away with a lot more...

excuses? if you have kids then you're pretty much good to go with anything having to do with them...

another is tell them that your bosses' boss told you to do something and that if they have any questions to ask them (tell them it was something private - then they'll be afraid of asking their boss)

otherwise just be on time
