WHy is hawaiis water clearer than cauilfornias or any other water?

Hawaii has less pollution, better sea currents & tropical waters are generally clearer/bluer than temperate waters. There are parts of the world with nicer waters than Hawaii but in relation to California, that is how I'd best put it.
