I haven't pre-ordered on. It comes out on Friday, and most kids should be in school and most parents should be working. I live in Merrick a small town with a 2 or 3 game shops. If I go 2 hours before it opens you think I will have a chance? Should I just talk to the store owner and see if he can like save it for me somehow?

This is what will happen. The Pre-Orders will exceed the number of PS3s recieved. Therefore NONE will be available for Non-Pre-Orders (that would be you). Then when the Pre-Orders have passed or the place you decide to go to has devided it up so half go to Pre-Orders and half go on shelves,.. every time they get some they will be sold out in under 2 hours (on first day they receive shipment).

It doesn't matter if School is supposed to be in session. The Gamer Generation has been out of school for years XD There may be some kids skipping school or on Thanksgiving vacation (some schools my online friends go to or have kids in have over 2 weeks vacation this year for Thanksgiving).

Meanwhile on places like eBay there may be some for maybe 5000 dollars (bare in mind previous consoles were not as exspensive in stores and cost thousands the first weeks on online),.. atleast 2000,... and have to pay hundreds for insurence, shipping, and handleing (maybe thousands,.. especially with the ones that start low on bids,.. they pull that... the S&H might be 5k if you don't read carefully).

.... so go pre-order >.> Besides the Pre-Orders are some times less expensive then In Store Price.

ADDED: Oh God,... Turbo just brought back memories of those people mountains at the Wal-Marts around the country. They had to close,...for like 45 minutes,.. because what they were getting was going to have so many people after it. They opened their door with a section for picking it up... set up to have a line. There was recordings all over the news from security cameras. When they opened the doors there were people mountains at some from people running over each other and climbing over the people running over the people... so the people mountains would get 4 people high at some parts >.> Ambulances came,.. people still tried to go get stuff with their injuries.

I suggest going to Wal-Mart and check to see if they're any campers. I know this may sound silly, but people have began setting up tents outside of Best Buy and started camping 1 week prior before the PS3 is launched. The reason why I think it's best to go the Wal-Mart is because they didn't take any pre-orders, meaning it's first come first serve. If you don't see any campers, you might be in luck. You need to keep checking the status on when the line forms. If you REALLY want a PS3, then I would start camping as SOON as you see people lining up. Wal-Mart may only be getting between 10-20 PS3's. Ands don't forget, the employees are going to be holding them for family. Good luck and be safe out there. Bring at least 3 people you can TRUST. That way, you all can take turns in line. I would also bring a Mace, taser, or nightstick just in case some moron decides to attack you for your shiny PS3.

most game stores (small or large) have a list, who ever's at the top of the list will get there's first. There's only 400,000 being released in all of america(next week).... it's even possible that those two stores might oonly get a handful if any.

if you don't want to spend $1500+ on ebay.... you have one slight chance... BestBuy...they don't have a list and they're not allowed to sell them to employees....

so grab some food maybe a coat and umbrella, some music and a cattleprod... and camp out infront of BestBuy..... before they open *more than 2 hrs* before they open way more..

i don't know if you bought ps2 on release... but i think there were only half a million that day... so it might be worse, maybe they'll ship more a few weeks after...(better than nothing)

don't worry if you don't get one now.... the hype will still be there whenever you get it... hell.... everyone still loves Halo1 and 2 do death.... and CounterStrike

Yeah sorry man, if you haven't preordered, you are screwed. The game shops in town would've already sold all of their PS3's (which were reserved) within minutes of the store opening.

Do a search on ebay for PS3 and You'll know why . People are bidding as much as 1300 $ for it . You can get it for only 850 $ .
