Yes It Does if you have a cable or Dsl modem. Wierd Enough... We just bought a new laptop and We got ours at Best Buy. They had the Geek Squad Guy come to our house and set it up. He was here for less than half an hour. It was worth it. (ask the geek squad guy for a tee shirt!!!)

Just like the broadband you have today, you have to atttach a wireless router to the broadband modem you currently have. You will make a connection to the same broadband, only wirelessly. Unless you have an unsuspecting neighbor with a router that was too stupid to encrypt it, or you live next door to a starbucks. Or you cruise the streets looking for a connection, you could park in a truck stop and use theirs.
Sorry, it isn't magic and there is no free lunch, someone still has to pay for the broadband connection attached to the wireless router.

you need a wireless router which will take the broadband connection at your mom's house and broadcast it wirelessly around the house. Your laptop can then pick up the signal and log onto the internet. The wireless router runs anywhere from $20 for a basic one up to $100 or so for the higher end ones

you will have to get a wireless broadband router and get rid of you old router to set up a wireless home network,

This way you can get internet access both on you pc as well as on your wireless enabled laptop.
