Hacking really isn't a big problem to be honest, but download yourself a firewall if you are really scared. 99.9% of all people on the internet will never be hacked in their lifetime though.

I am curious how you know you have been hacked? I have been in this business over 25 years and have seen only a dozen personal PCs that were actually hacked (many had viruses, malware, spyware etc). And everyone in your whole family has been hacked. Using Bittorrent and getting infected is not the same thing as getting hacked. You are inviting them in that way. If you truly want to eliminate problems, don't use torrents. Interesting that YOU admit to hacking (Habbo). Usually early hackers download a lot of scripts etc from hacking sites and end up infecting themselves, a LOT. Running more than 1 anti virus on a computer is not advised. A lot of false positives.

Technically, the only sure fire way to protect yourself from hackers is to never use the internet. However, if this is not an option - follow the advice of the kind person telling you to get yourself a firewall - ZoneAlarm from www.zonelabs.com is free for personal use - try it out.

You should have:
A good firewall (zonealarm is fine)
A good antivirus (avast or AVG are good and free).
A good anti spyware (spybot and adaware se)
All the latest Windows security updates.
All your other programs latest updates (antivirus updates, anti spyware updates etc...)

You should also:
Run regular virus and antispy scans (full scans not quick scans)
Have a safe behavior (avoid downloading unknown files, executing unknown programs, opening emails from unknown people etc...)
Create a good password for your Windows account (that will be hard for others to guess)
Avoid using wifi or turn it off when you're not using the Internet.

there are many options available in the market..

For firewalls, there is the physical firewall and the software firewall.
Physical firewalls, basically and i think comes with routers, brands like 2wire and linksys. It is more of a firewall tat protects ur entire network unlike software firewall, which oni protects that particular computer
Software firewalls would be programs like norton internet security, which provides alot of features on top of a firewall tat are fantastic like intrusion detection, outbreak alert, antispam parantal control etc..

den programs like norton system works further enhance ur system with features like internet worm protection, e mail scanning, and other features to allow u to clean up or speed up ur comnputer.

Den, lastly and most importantly, it not enough to have these. U need to update the programs as fequently as possible to maintain the highest protection that is possible.

thou being hack is unlikely but lowering the chances is good. Is like sayin, if u left ur house door unlock, wat are the chances be robbed? on top of that while u prevent hankin, u be preventin virus and other **** frm affectin ur computer..
