start my own band in AZ?

I am a singer and wanting to start a band in AZ. Any ideas on how to do this?

1) Hang up fliers looking for band mates
2) Get together with your band mates and write, play, practice
3) Get gigs

Good way to get started, but once you've got yourself networked you'll probably end up finding new band mates.
