If his snoring disturbs you in another room, it is almost certain that he has sleep apnea. This is a very serious condition - if untreated it can damage his heart and even kill him!

He MUST go to a sleep clinic for diagnosis and testing. He probably needs to use a CPAP machine. This will stop his snoring COMPLETELY and enable both of you to have more restful sleep. But you can't just buy a CPAP machine - they have to be adjusted to individual needs, so you need a prescription from a sleep doctor.

Please do not delay getting him to a sleep clinic. This is not an inconvenience - it is a life-threatenng condition, which if untreated will only get worse.

It is nonsense to say the sleeper is tired.

It is the two pieces of larings. When relax state, tongue falls back and air try to get in, viola---vibration occurs! Go it? It is call sleep apenea.

There are 4 methods to cope with snoring.
1. Using CPAP. There is a sleep doctor in NUH. He is Dr. Leng PH. I think he went to US. Try Mt. E, Dr. Adrain. ENT specialist into sleep apenea. But doctors always money-making, just remember!
2. By surgery. Only ENT specialist does it!
3. Wearing a special watch to cope that snore.
4. Using nasal spray. Spray right into the nostril each time before bed.

Have you tried those nasal strips? There is also a new product on the market you put in your mouth at night that looks like a mouth guard football players use. The design is to make your lower jaw stick out further to keep you from snoring.

He may snore if he is overweight or has restricted airway when sleeping. Sleep Apnea is also a possible problem. A sleep study could be done or you ould ask him to try sleeping on his side or breath right strips on his nose. Good luck.

I'm sorry that I can't remember the name of the appliance, but there's something that can be custom fitted for inside his mouth that will keep the airways open. Ask the dentist and doctors about this. Good luck with this, you both need it.

he sounds like he has sleep apnea. my dad has it and had the same problem, i couldnt even sleep and i was in the other room! im almost positive thats what your husband has. if he goes to see a doctor about it, they'll give him this machine that will help him sleep better. it'll be a lot more peaceful at night.
