Because she wants him and there's easy access. If she'd play hard to get, and he never got any, he'd come crawling back quick. (check out the episode where he thought he was going to loose her...he dolts over her like they've just met.
Also, by seeing her each and every day seems to have him bored. He's checking out the Boobies mags and comparing the thin sexy blondes, etc to her - the gal he's seen bear 2 children. He could be one of those guys that get so used to porn to plz himself that he's no longer interested in the real thing.
Also, major point is it would ruin the show if he woke up and realized her 'hotness' as that's not real life most of the time as well.
