Some people can have a difficult time accepting different ideas and view of immigrated cultures as well as their own cultures. Some people are just not open minded enough to look at things through someone elses point of view.
As a whole i think we are more accepting to other cultures and ideas than what we were say 40 years ago. Hopefully one day everyone will be open minded and not so arrogant to think that their own point of view or culture is the right one.

You know, in a perfect world there wouldn't be "my way or the highway". I am very grateful to live in a country like this where I have the freedom to speak/think/feel the way I want.
However, I think you have a point. There are real issues sometimes where Americans have a problem because certain immigrants living here don't speak English very well. Guess what? English came from England, not America.
Also the ideas and views of immigrant cultures are what laid the foundation of American culture to begin with. But sadly, pride and/or fear causes a lot of people to protest ideas & views that don't have a "made in the U.S.A." sticker on them. Too bad, too. You really miss out by being narrow-minded. America is wonderful, but it's YOUNG, & we have a lot to learn from our older neighbors.

Yes, specially the older generations. They believe that other cultures are going to take over this country. Some Americans have forgotten that the native americans and Mexicans where here before any other culture. Have they ever thought of that? America is America and everyone should be welcome no matter what. Different cultures has made America and we as Americans need different cultures.

I think that most Americans are open to ideas and view from those of other cultures. You have the occasional hard head, but I feel that most welcome others with open arms.

Yes I do but I don't think it is specific to our culture. I think people see immigrants as a threat to their traditions, and it is hard to see past that fact.

I'd like to say that is at least the stereotype. I'd like to think that abundantly educated communities, (ie big businesses or schools) would know to think outside of that box.
Conservatives for sure have a difficult time with this, unfortunately.

Some yes.
As a whole, no.
Nor do I think everyone who is against illigal imigration hates the immigrants, they each have their own views on it weather it be that yes, maybe they don't accept them, or maybe they have diffrent reasons.

I know I don't, but then I go and learn about other cultures before I make an opinion.

some people always will have a problem about everything whether it bothers them or not they just want to run their mouths, and some don't have a heart,or sympathy,or empathy...and they don care about no one but them and their own. Most people don't know their family started from immigration, but that's OK .....now its do as i say not as i did
