I agree entirely. Goalies are safe within the crease and if they go out to meet the puck, they are fair game. The only time I think that the same rules apply concerning goalies out of the crease is when they are being pulled.

No, because the crease is way too small. Plus he is way too vulnerable. He is not bracing himself to be hit. He is concentrating on stopping the puck.
Sure he's well padded but the way players run goalies is stupid. If goalies were running players when they came out, I'd agree with you BUT no way, the game is not about being Mr. Tough Guy and hitting a goalie. Notice how most of these brave guys who run goalies are all little sh*theads like Tucker, Cooke, Barnaby, Avery, etc.

the goalies have always been fair game when they leave there nets, its just if a player bumps him then you will have a bench clearing brawl which yous to happen frequently back in the 70's. but they've always been fair game out of the crease. but if you bump them in the crease then you will find your self in the penalty box for 2 minutes interference.

I think that the goalie is fair game wherever his position is. He is supposed to protect the goal and if he leaves that area, for whatever reason, he is fair game. The goalie is like the KING in a chess game. If he is caught out of position, is is TOAST!

many times i might want to agree, yet Lucic went for the examine fairly of the p.c... an rather high-quality line there i am going to admit, yet I regarded on the replays accessible on YouTube and can want to not come across a thanks to exonerate Lucic. even as a goalie I even haven't any issue with making contact. yet now and again it will be misused as a danger to floor a netminder. Had Lucic pulled up only a touch and nonetheless made contact, then it would want to were incidental, yet Milan obviously went for the examine. nonetheless, that is problematical to ***** because a wise goalie (ahem, I received't aspect out any names) can destroy out with some images of their personal even as issues get crowded around the internet.

That's the way it works in lacrosse, but I think running the goaltender would be too strategic and injuries would happen far too often.
Of course, perhaps goalies would just never leave the crease, but do we want that?

I disagree. I am all for physical play , but running goalies brings it to another level. You will have 20 minute breaks to gather up all the gloves after a big hit on your tender.

With the extra equipment, goalies lack the maneuverability as the regular players. We are at a disadvantage when it comes to avoiding a hit.
