Like...330 pounds...i'm 5'10...23 with some back problems...but some of my weight is muscle--as i've been working on a farm since I was a toddler. I'm not going to even start trying to have a child for over a year--so I can lose some weight...but even dieting is waaaaayyy hard for me...but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to have a healthy child and pregnancy. My husband says he will help me thru all of it. How much should I lose? at least 100 pounds is my guess...Is that too much, too little? Is there an easy way to lose the weight? Is there any vitamins/suppliments I can take? How much should I lose and How many months will it take for me to get to a target weight? I live too far from any gyms...but I am willing to rent excercise videos and eat right....Whaddya'll think?

When I first started trying to get pregnant, I started eating better and exercising. I did Richard Simmons videos. He's a little weird, but the videos were really good. I lost about 15 pounds; went from 230 to 217, I'm 5'11". Now I'm 30 weeks pregnant and have gained it back, but it's mostly baby. The thing that bothers me is that I can't "see" where the baby is. I mean I don't have the belly that you think of when you think of prenant women. I can see when he kicks and I can definately feel his kicks!!

One thing that's easy to deal with is the extra weight. I already know what it feels like to have the extra weight. For someone that was small to begin with, they don't know what it's like to have all that extra weight! I recommend losing some weight, but I know it's very hard to lose it.

Good Luck with trying to lose weight and getting pregnant!! It will happen!!

You are so young, why don't you wait at least 2 years to have a baby and really learn healthy eating. I was an active child with a great metabolism which went away as an adult. That's when I started to gain weight because I didn't have the proper diet, even though I was still exercising. Weight Watchers is how I lost weight, it is the healthiest and most balanced diet. No gimmicks or fads. Exercise videos and walking would be great for you. Good luck.

You should try to lose about 150 pounds. That would be best for the baby. The bigger you are, the more health problems the baby could possibly have. You also have a higher chance of developing Pregnancy diabetes, and that may not go away after you have the baby. My cousin had this same problem, and with her first child wound up with a lifetime of diabetes. That child also has learning problems and was born very prematurely, so prematurely he was sent home on this machine of sorts he had to have strapped around his belly. It's better to wait until you've reached your weight loss goals to have another. I had my son 9 months ago, and am still working on losing the weight. According to my husband, once I lose it I'm gaining it back, but I don't think so :)

Take it one step at a time... first ask yourself why you are overweight. Is it poor eating habits & lack of exercise? Or could there be a metabolic disorder at the root of your weight gain.

When there is an underlying condition, such as a thyroid disorder or PCOS you may experience some infertility. It is always a good idea to get a physical / blood work before starting to try and get pregnant. Also, you will want to be on a good pre-natal vitamin.

I commend you for wanting to give your baby the best possible start by trying to improve you own health first. Good Luck!

I think you can do it! Any weight loss would be very good. I think that anywhere from 60-100 lbs in a year is a good goal. it comes out to about 10 lbs a month which is a healthy rate. I recommend taebo...it has cardio and muscle strengthening. Also drink lots of water bc it is a natural appetite suppressant....one glass before your meal and one after...this will help you eat less and keep you full. Good luck!

I would get under 200 lbs. Think of the benefits you will be giving your child by having a healthy mom who can be active with them and will be around a lot longer. Wait a year or two and do EVERYTHING you can to lose the weight, it is your childs future.

Yes I would say 100 lbs, cardio and eating right, minimal fats and lots of good carbs (veggies) and fiber. I was 210 lbs when I got pregnant, I did fine, but since I have lost a lot of weight. I was 250lbs by the time I gave birth and I look back and cannot believe I let it go like that. Don't rent videos, just get your heart rate up. Running worked for me. And I HATE to run but it works! No magic pills, just good old fashioned cardio vascular exercise. Good luck!

Get your self healthy 1st!

A heavy person can have a baby, the OB will concider you to be a high risk pregnancy. I would go to your OB now for a checkup and talk to him or her about your plan. Weight watchers is good.
2lbs a week is the amount that you should lose.

i am a very overweight woman myself. i could loose a hundred pounds or more. that being said, untie you get your weight down to a normal weight and keep it that way for years your going to have a child and give them habbits that could cause them serious health damage.

three hundred pounds. Sweetheart if i told you that it was fifty poimds of pure musle ther you still have to loose down to at least 170 to even pretend to be healthy. And 170 is still considerd overweight. I am not trying to be cruel but either loose the weight or put away the dream of a baby. You cant have a baby when you are too big to care for them.
