We're getting married next June. We like to join a package/ tour because we're just too lazy to plan everything ourselves. Moreover, it's because we don't know where to start. Any reliable tour packages to suggest? We live in Toronto.

Go to any of the Greek travel agencies on the Danforth and they will have on offer many different packages for you to choose from. Another great idea is to do a cruise on the Greek islands. There are many to choose from in the duration of the summer. Try and get a package that includes regions all over Greece, Aegean, Ionian so you can get an idea of the different areas.

I choose Greece because its less expensive than Western Europe. The Aegean Isles are tourist friendly, the night life, food, beaches are quite good. English is more and more acceptable because of the EU. The menus even in small villages are now both in Greek and English. As long as you don't need first class, you will have a very nice time. People are friendly.

I think you do the best by contacting a good travel agency.
Some nice places to go are the islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Syros, Patmos, Corfu, Lefkas, Zante, Thasos, Mytilini and of course Crete. However, if you like sea, you can always buy a cruise (starting from 3 days up to 15 days) and then you can see all interesting islands and perhaps most important archaeological sites of continental Greece.
It all depends on how long you are going to stay and your budget.

My cousin married last July. They went to Greece. She was fascinated, talking about beaches, the blue sky and water, the sand, the monuments, the food, the buildings, ect. She said that because of the Olimpics they made a lot of new stuff, remodeled hotels, restaurants, nice and clean streets, etc. Give a try and let me know is she was right... maybe she didn't get out of the room after all, its a honeymoon!!!
