Ok, when 9/11 happened, people were all like, "YEAH, BUSH!!! He's so cool!" What the heck happened? Bush did something that I think most people would've been afraid to do. Do you think Al Gore would've declared war on Iraq? I don't think so. When he announced it, everybody was happy. Now what? I fell bad for the guy. he didn't do anything wrong or bad as far as I'm concerned, and I want to know why people hat him.

I never said that 9/11 was the direct reason he declared the war, just that it is semi-related. People were like that and he did declare a war.

What I mean was, people were so happy that he was president and liked what he was doing at the time of 9/11 and aftereward. Later, he declared war on terrorism. Now people hate him. They went from "loving him" (sort of) to hating him.
and no, I do not live in a cave. Thanks for asking.

Wow, it looks like some of these people are a little (or alot) kooky. Don't feel alone, there are many of us out here who feel as you do. He did not start the war based on a lie. There were intelligence reports from MANY countries that all said the same thing. He doesn't hate Mexicans...geez, he wants to give the illegals a break for God Sake! The war is not about oil if it was why aren't we paying .50 a gallon. Iraq needs to use that money to rebuild and support it's people. He is not murdering women and children. He is not Satan. I believe he is a sincere man who is doing the best he can. The media also plays a big part in people's perceptions of him. Anyone who says the media is not a liberal propaganda machine is a liar. Then there are those who believe whatever Alec Baldwin, the Dixie Chicks, Barbra Streisand, David Letterman, Jon Stewart etc. tell them to believe. They are all so well educated you know!
Keep your head up....don't let these freaks get to you. You are the sane one NOT them.

In general I thought he was OK and the war was a necessary evil. The last 2 yrs it seemed obvious that our troops were out-numbered and out-armed thus resulting in so many unnecessary deaths. On C-SPAN Book, many vets have been interviewed and one said it was 5 to 1 in favor of terrorists. Another described the tribal warlords as fierce when they started b4 Christ and when they got 'Allah's' word to kill, they were like to the square more terrible. A vet's dad called in and said his son had head wounds from war but had a ruff time w/the VA-others said the same. One said they had bad communication and were sent in when no one was said to be there, but they were wrong. A British reporter w/the troops revealed a secret op in his paper putting everyone in danger and simply said he asked their permission but they didn't respond. They saw 9 spec op guys die due to a bad decision. I've heard at least a handful of govt people remark recently that the troops are short handed. It seems such an injustice all around no wonder 99% of the guys are mentally injured, but none of them actually stated their stories as a complaint just a fact. Booo on this negligence(and I'm not speaking politically).

They would have hated Bush even MORE if he had done NOTHING after 9/11.
A lot of reference is being made to his perceived poor presentation at times, so I sense a little regional culture prejudice in this country and it bothers me. Give the guy a break.

Foodaholic...Don't take this the wrong way but i find it sort of ironic and amusing that you feel sorry for George Bush.....especially by the fact that you tied it in with 911. I truly believe that George Bush and the administration knew about the plan on 911 before it happened and did have something to do with it! i think that they allowed it all to happen to get as in a war in the middle east. This is why I people hate him. I personally don't HATE him but I would like to see him face justice for war crimes against humanity.

i replaced into all in favour of Bush highly after 9/11, idea he began a very good interest in Afghanstan, yet he desserted that and went to Iraq lower than pretend motives and then i began to compared to him, said by quite a few failed polices and many adjustments in how he replaced into going to run issues, the Katrina mess the shortcoming of doing something for the monetary device formerly it befell and then his entire smartassness in those variety of circumstances. if Obama makes similiar mistakes i am going to experience an similar way about him.

I know what you mean, perhaps he was the right president at the right time.
However he has less diplomatic skills than some of his predecessors. He is a very strong speaker which is a good quality.
Remember that just under 50% of people that voted did not vote for him and therefore will most likely oppose his decisions.
Also it is illegal since the formation of the united nations to declare war on any particular country. So Bush has not declared war on Iraq. He declared war on the corrupt regime of Saddam Hussein. This war was a success. Unfortunatley the troops are left overseas defending Iraq and trying to help rebuild. Many people are now thinking that it is time to try and bring the troops home and let them get a good hold of their own country.
It has now been quite some time since the success of the defeat of Saddam Hussein so now all that is seen is the deaths of troops by random attacks by terrorists.
Also consider that Bush is making a larger moral decision than a political decision and is taking the heat for it because he believes it is the right thing to do. This also shows great character strength, but unfortunately many view it as weakness.

well, i NEVER trusted GW Bush, not even as he stood in front of the rubble of the Twin Towers with a megaphone but after 9/11 i was upset and ready to back the actions that would catch the perpetrators of that mass murder. and then he went in to Iraq. and it's not just that he went into Iraq... he went into Iraq in a big hurry. he wouldn't let the weapons inspectors finish their job. and he racketed up the WMD rhetoric to a scream, the mushroom clouds, the yellow cake. for many years secular Saddam had no truck with religious zealots and had been watched and kept under control. now suddenly he was training terrorists and was an immediate threat. i just did not buy it.
and no. i doubt Gore would have invaded Iraq, at least not until the weapons were finished and he had some kind of consensus with the world community.
you don't think GW did anything bad or wrong because you haven't done your research and you aren't an Iraqi sitting in the pile of broken rocks that was your home holding the bloodied body on one of your beloveds and you're not a veteran of the Iraq occupation sitting an a wheelchair without your arms and legs.

Well there is so many reasons for it that I just don't have the time to put them down but I think more than anything else he will be remembered as a President who not only degraded the office of the President of the United States but also his tactics in the war on terror took away the "fear" of United States as being the Super Power.
It is not a coincidence that countries like, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela talk eye to eye with America.

If you are saying 9/11 was not a direct reason for declaring war. Could you more elaborate, or at least hive some hyperbolic analysis of your question.
Thank you

Why do people hate Bush?
Well, aside from the fact that the man is a bonafide idiot... and I'm not being insulting here, I'm not exaggerating to make a point... he's an actual idiot (and I don't blame him for that. It's not his fault that he's an idiot)...aside from that... it took him HOW long to get help to the Hurricane victims in New Orleans? And where were the weapons of mass destruction that he used to justify the war? And how many thousands of innocent people has he killed in the war? And what has happened to the U.S. economy since he's taken power? And what has he done to stem terrorism in the world? And what is his plan to deal with Bird flu? And where is Bin Laden? And why did he allow Rumsfeld to stay on this long? And how many of his inept friends has he given jobs to? And the list goes on and on and on...
People hate Bush because he's done a great deal of harm and obsolutely no good. He's an embarrassment domestically and internationally. He's, singularily, the most foolish man who's occupied the oval office since the White House was erected.
And to top it off... he can't speak coherent english.
