I smoke too. I also go into many homes during the week, and have to be respectful of people's space. I use a breath freshener, followed by a strong gum or breath mints. Don't smoke 'till right before you get somewhere and expect not to smell, give it a few minutes before to have an effect. Mouthwash is another good thing, just do what you do with the same enthusiasm that you smoke with. In other words, to just pop a breath mint in your mouth will not overcome the odor. As for your clothes, I use an orange citrus air-freshener and spray it liberally on my clothes, especially around my shoulders and head. The citrus is effective, and not overpowering. I had a homeowner's daughter ask me why the other workman in her house smelled like smoke, and I had smoked 5 min. earlier.
Just be conscious of your smoking, blow smoke up and away from you, don't blow if the wind will throw it back at you, etc. etc.

Of course it is best to not smoke at all, but that isn't what was asked here. Why all the preaching in stead of answering a simple question? If you have no answer, why start preaching? Here's a simple solution that does work. 1. Put a small spoon full of bakingsoda in your mouth, take a sip of water with that. 2. Wash / brush your teeth with the bakingsoda in your mouth 3. Brush for 2 min, don't forget to also brush your tongue and gums, also under your tongue! After brushing thouroughly rinse your mouth 4. Eat something, like an apple. 5 repeat if nessecary

Unfortunately, I don't think there are any ways to hide the smell. Even if you smoke outside, there's always some blows back on your clothes.

i don't think so... a good thing to do is sit by an open window (no screen) and blow the smoke out there. then, spray some febreeze air spray afterwards and close the window.

Oust will mask it somewhat. Sensen, if you can still find it will help with the breath. But if you're near a non or ex-smoker, they can tell no matter what you do, it stinks.
