It goes back a little farther than the ones on your list but the book "Gates of Fire" by Stephen Pressfield is the most amazing fictional history book I have ever read. It is about how 500 spatans and friends held of 10,000 persians at the battle of Thermopoly. I read the book while listening to the Gladiator soundtrack. It was the most bad *** book I have ever read. Trust me.

River God by Wilbur Smith (Egyptian)
Will Hobbs is a young adult writer but he wrote one about the Alaskan Gold Rush that was very good.
