was surprised to see where it came from, Germany. How can you buy American made when our jobs are in other countries?

It's basically due to the unions and the sorriness of the American worker. It's really sad, but it's true....It's hard to find anything that is actually made in USA

Our economy is indeed coasting on borrowed time.

Americans are not willing to pay more for American made. Because of that, we do not have American competition for small ticket items. US manufactures can not keep prices down because of the cost to operate in America. Wages, taxes, and more taxes, property costs, utilities, more government mandated cost, law suits, lawyers, more taxes...
The only way to bring these products back to the U.S. is to stop importation either by higher duties and taxes or by blocking imports.
Not gonna happen.

hersheys is american. reeses is also hershey
i am a chocolate whore and will eat hersheys only in desperation.
if you want quality you buy from many other co9untries.
to buy american, a noble concept, but impractical, just read the label of everything you buy.
the country of origion is required.
mars is also american (snickers, milky way, )
nestles is not american, cadbury's is foriegn again, i believe.
i will buy american when we start making the quality i want.

Well, in all honesty, German chocolate is far superior to ours.

In fact, compare any European-made chocolate to Hershey's...it's sad, really.

And, it pisses me off to admit this, as I am not generally impressed by Europe.
