my internet windows. The windows won't seem to close when I hit the x (close) button. Then eventually if I can get one to close it closes all the open windows that I have up. What can be causing this?

I am pressing it once at a time. I give it time to close but it doesn't . The hourglass just stays on and when I check the taskbar mgr it shows all of the windows not responding so when I end one it closes all of the open windows. This has been happening for the past couple days.

You can try Firefox without uninstalling Explorer and see how it goes. It has a popup stopper and there's no need to uninstall Explorer.
there seem to be two versions of Firefox, both different from each other, the one you get from here can play yahoo videos:

Hi first of all don't ever ever ever ever use Internet Explorer unless you absolutely must. Instead use Mozilla Firefox as it is safer and better.

However to respect your question here is what you do in this order.

First..go to this site and get the Utilities to fix your computer. They are free... Go to..
http://www.freewebs.com/year2006/freesoftware.htm

Now once that is done get the New Internet Explorer that is now out. Do a windows update and you should be using Interet explorer 7 now.

However...go to the site I gave you first that way if you have any problems you do it in this order.

1. The web site I gave you will fix any problems
2. Then when you update Internet Explorer to 7 instead of 6 you will have a clean install.

However I must caution you that Internet Explorer is like a sugar cube and the viruses and spyware out there are flies lol. So when you and I use IE it's like russian roulette. Sooner or later you are gonna get hit with a bad bad bad spyware or virus.

Now I have to use IE every now and then as some sites don't work with Firefox browser but about 98% of the sites do so use Firefox and under no circumstances should you use IE.

Now the new IE7 is a bit safer than 6 that you are using but not as safe still as firefox. Also one thing you would like about Mozilla firefox is it has themes! You can get different styles for it.

The link to get firefox is http://www.mozilla.org/

What you need is to clean your computer up with easycleaner by ToniArts, you have to many invalid registry entry files.
Send me an email at doomsday_propaganda@yahoo.com
And I'll send you the .exe file for the program.
