Diesel fuel requires a hotter spark to light the fuel that Gasoline. Diesel engines also have much higher compression on the cylinders. Diesel in a gas motor will not run and be expensive to clean out. Gas in a diesel motor will run for a very limited time then ruin the cylinders. There is a good reason why you don't make either mistake!!!

gas and diesel ignite in two completely different methods, gas uses a spark and diesels use compression only, please note deisels do not run on glow plugs, they are used to warm the air comming into the cylinders to make the diesel ignite in cold weather, the glow plugs are also used to lower emmisions by cycling after cold starts to reduce smoke, gas is rated in octane rating which is its resistance to preignite ,so it waits for the spark to ignite it,diesel is rated in cetane rating which is how easy it ignites when under high compression ( 20/1 and up).hope this helps

hey there gas it needs spark to make your motor run a diesel they have glo plugs and if you try to run either one with like a diesel if you put gas in it your motor will probally blow up and and a gas one if you put diesel in it your going to have big problems as well in the long run you'd be looking for a new car
