I am asking this here because there are some Christians who give thoughtful replies to our problems.
The woman was taken before Jesus and her accusers were shamed
I have always wondered about the man. This seems to reach to our times. We have probably seen/heard stories about women who were raped, looked on with hatred and slain.

I realise that rape and adultery are two different things but are both not "crimes" ?

The Jewish leaders didn't care. What they wanted was for Jesus to break the Mosaic Law by not condemning her,so they could accuse Him of blasphemy, and excommunicate or even kill Him.But of course it's not possible to out fox God the Son.He was going to give His life when He was ready, and not before. He said "I have the power to lie down my life and the power to take it back up,no one takes it from me."

I believe that the woman taken before Jesus wasnt raped. She was willfully cheating with the married man. Back then, I belive that it was believed that women had a powerful sexuality, and were the ones that distracted men, ie, the tradition of veiling in some countries. I think the punishments on men who committed adultry were much more steep if he did it with a married woman, primarily because husbands wanted to be sure of the paternity of their children, but it wasnt so bad with single women, although they were then deemed improper for marriage, since virginity was a very important thing back then. Hope this helps!

The bible doesn't say, therefore any answer would be conjecture. Good question, though Rose *smile*.
