I am 36 1/2 weeks pregnant and am working out at least 5 times a week doing cardio and 3 days a week doing body sculpting/weights/strength training. Lots of squats, lunges, and all of that good stuff. A few women have told me that if I continue to work out at that level I will have the baby early. I know that my due date is exact because I charted my temp and body signs. With that said...are there any mom's out there that had worked out really hard in the last four weeks, knew that their due date was very accurate (not just by going on the 'first day of last missed period'), and delivered early, on time, or late???? Thanks in advance!

Of course exercise can trigger labor. Consult your physician about how much is acceptable.....for YOU. My childs delivery was predicted to the exact date using amniocentisis - techniques are reliable. I was not in the shape you are in.... but your doctor will likely advise you to simplify matters to simple walking during the latter part of the third trimester.

If you deliver now, your baby will be full term. I truely believe keeping in shape will help you have an easy labor. I was completely out of shape with my first baby and had the most painful, long delivery even though I had an epidural. My second pregnancy I was in better shape, only because I was chasing around my first born! I had a 3 hour labor with no epidural. I really believed it was because of the shape I was in. Both delivered early-8 days then 13 days. Both were over 8 pounds too.

Nope, I worked out w/ my trainer(5 to 6 days a week) with my past 2 pregnancies up until the day I went into labor (full term) and plan to do the same with this pregnancy. Just remember if your body tells you to slow down to listen. Not to mention 36 weeks is considered full term. You are giving your baby & yourself a huge gift by staying in shape, think of labor as a 10k marathon, you don't run it if you didn't train. Your labor should go faster & smoother than someone whom did not stay in shape. Good Luck & congarts

I fell pregnant the second day that I went off Birth control. I delivered 12 days late to a thumping 9lb 4oz...and that last 4 weeks was my most active-i was like a bee on steroids! I remodelled my garden, rearranged my house into a more easy care style, cleaned every pane of glass, mowed my 41/2 acres of grass lawns on a john deere zero turn ride on mower that rattled me around like a one wheeled haycart, collected rockes for garden edging, (i was trying to shift the little begger, cause he was starting to get really uncomfortable)and he was due on the 8th of the month, finally appeared on the 20th- I had a natural birth, no tearing, no epidural and very little help from that happy gas. Keep it up-you get back in shape quicker!!!!!!!1

It's possible... but not unless your body has started preparing for labor (as in - you are effacing and/or dialating). I did yoga and all that...... and I am turning 40 weeks pregnant on Wednesday...
