Besides, Jimmy Carter the prez has better things to do than watch banal TV shows like American Idol, such as building homes for Habitat for Humanity. You think Reagan, Daddy Bush or Clinton would ever do anything like that? I doubt it.
Oh, and Ruth - he had no choice but to give the canal back, we only had a 99 year lease on it. He's not like Dubya who just invades a country because he feels like it. I don't suppose you noticed that the UK gave back the port of Hong Kong to China for the same reason as Carter gave back the Panama canal.

Jimmy Carter got away with giving the Panama Canal back to a nation left to the wolves in the giving.
He also kicked democratic Taiwan out of the UN in favor of Red China.
Sorry, I think Carter has been the most under-scrutinized President in existence.
