During the course of its development, Vista has been the target of a number of negative assessments by various groups. Criticism of Windows Vista has included protracted development time, more restrictive licensing terms, the inclusion of a number of new Digital Rights Management technologies aimed at restricting the copying of protected digital media, and the usability of new features such as User Account Control.

why? its just marketing hype to make you re-buy windows again when you already have it. oh oh oh they made some cute icons and new wallpaper for the desktop...big whoop.
windows 98 was the last real operating system and windows ME, 2000 and XP are just dressed up versions of it. You almost never had updates for windows 98 but look at XP.....it needed an entire service pack added to it just to keep it up and going.
why reinvent the wheel?

I like Google just fine. It will be interesting to see if there is anything better offered on Vista. They have a lot to compete against...

No. It is just a Microsoft way to make what we all have is obsolete so we have to buy something newer. And it will take a year to get the security bugs out of it.

It will have too many bugs at first, like XP did. I'll probably wait until they get those worked out before I get it for my computer. Just depends.

it looks pretty, but i don't think i'll spend the $300 upgrading to a new OS when XP is perfectly ok with me. plus, i just bought my computer last year and i don't want to spend anymore money now.
