Why is it that people want to save animals? I see announcements on the TV that says you can save a dog or cat for 1 dollar a day, but you can use that same dollar to sponsor a child in a third world country. why do we still give money to save old Yeller. wouldn't you prefer a million dogs to die that to save the life of one child or are we so racist that we rather give to the animals rather than other countries because their not Americans? wouldit be better to kill all the strays and save the children.

Unfortunately we have been desensitized to the importance of human life and the human soul by the violence we see on TV and in the movies. It no longer affects us to see someone blow away 100 people with a machine gun. Blood, guts and body parts flying. We're used to it. We are numb to it.
How would we feel if we saw the same shows on TV but instead of people blowing people away they were shooting at little "innocent" kittens? All hell would break loose and the advertisers would pull their ads and PETA would be screaming.
What does that say about our society today? God help us all! Has the day truly come when we care about saving a cat whose lifespan is about 18 years over that of a human with a SOUL who can live naturally for up to 90 years?
Does anyone but me find this appalling and sad?

Every living creature deserves a home, they deserve a life that they to can enjoy.
Saving animals that are being threatened by extinction, and are living in horrible conditions where they are being treated cruelly we as people who do know right from wrong and can see these inhumane conditions need to act rightfully.
Even though there are people in third world countries, we should first look at people in out own countries, it seems everywhere we are ignoring real facts, so I think we need to start somewhere!!
And if helping animals in our country is sucessful maybe then something can be worked out to help the unfortunate people of our country.
So have a heart and take a look at the positive areas of situations, maybe then you will see why animals to are important.

Killing the strays or just letting them die will not save the children...discrimination against animals is not an example of racism....
