Why is it that people want to save animals? I see announcements on the TV that says you can save a dog a cat for 1 dollar a day, but you can use that same dollar to sponsor a child in a third world country why do we still give money to save old Yeller. wouldn't you prefer a million dogs to die that to save the life of one child or are we so racist that we rather give to the animals rather than other countries because their not Americans. I would be better to kill all the strays and save the children.

I have to agree with you, why save an animal that no one wants. People get a cat or dog, don't care for them and let them have babies and drop them off in the street, why keep saving them if there is no place for them.

I think it's cruel to ignore the fate of some animals. I have worked with people in an animal shelter and seen dogs and cats get taken away to be put down because there is no home for them and that's not the animals fault. I don't understand how people can dump their so called pets and leave them on the road to die, that's not fair. The children are important but don't forget the animals too.

because we as humans f'd up the world ecosystem
so far when ever we saw an animal as a threat, we hunted them to or near extinction like wolves for example,
and we feel like we need to compensate by repopulating the area with similar creatures that have no natural predators there

as for all those nuisance domesticated animals like cats/dogs
i feel there should be more paper work involved so the WWF (or whoever) can keep track of the populations, also i would say that we're gona need an OPEN SEASON on feral(stray w/o tags) domesticated non live-stock animals namely cats and dogs,

the populations are too high for thier own well being
if the population was lower there would be less need for organizations like ASPCA,
too many people have the ability to possess pets while they have no way to provide proper care,

culling the population and requiring that all pets be registered
and all pet births be documented and submitted to the proper authorities would make a big difference

Thats sad that you think that you would prefer a illion dogs die? Thats all God's creation Well I guess I can kind of understand because I think that dog's arent as attached to each other as humans are because I think they won't even remember each other . but peiople are not racist just love animals. there is nothing wrong with saving animals. why not pay 2 dollars a day to save dogs and humans together and it will be good.

No offense, but you are a sad and narrow-minded person if you think we have to concentrate all our resources on saving JUST one group of beings in need. Why can't we help everyone? What gives you the right to place a value on the lives of other living creatures?

Please explain to me how killing a million dogs would save a child. There is enough wealth in this world to share it out to everyone; people are just too selfish to part with it. They think it doesn't concern them, well it does.

Hard to answer. Guess there all kinds of people who want to save something. And, they can make easy money from donations as I doubt they will volunteer their time. I joke with my friends I going to start a "Save a Bug Society" for every $5 a person donate they will receive a "Hug a Bug" bumper sticker for their car/truck.

Because animals (other than humans) are completely helpless and dependent on us humans. Another reason is animals enrich our lives emotionally and physically. For many single people, a pet is no different from a child. People with pets tend to be less depressed than those without pets and they tend to have a healthier blood pressure and lower stress level.

SEE, you are one of those people that would want to send money over to little kids, where ever there at, instead of taking care of our Owen things, weather or not it's an animal, or human.
i think you have a bad attitude. my animal is my child.
what you can do,
send birth control to the 3rd world

Hmm....interesting question. I wouldn't like either to die but yeah we should save people first.........I've seen those sponsor a child commercials and I really want to but I'm going to have to wait till I have money since I highly doubt my parents will give it to me.

i admire animals lots! i prefer to declare i could die yet i don't be attentive to if i could desire to. If i did not pick to die i could sense so undesirable for something of my existence with the aid of fact I killed an animal species!
