No. A baby does not belong in that environment. The woman should be able to visit her baby as often as is allowed by the rules of the jail, and to pump her breasts in order to provide her baby with breast milk. She should then focus on resolving her legal issues as soon as possible.

I don't believe any "minor" crime gets months of jail time, therefore I don't think the woman should be able to keep her child. If her family wants to care for the child while she serves her time that should be allowed and she could pick up custody after she's cleaned up but as for keeping it there are a few questions. How would she care for a child while in jail? How would the baby get outside air? Is it far to the child to spend even it's first month (or longer) in a prison or jail?

The woman obviously has done something worth being put in jail--drugs, stealing, or repeated offenses. She deserves to do her time. Her child does not deserve to pay for her mistakes.

I'm all for woman working towards getting their children back but keeping them throughout prison? I don't think so.

It depends on several things. How long will she be in prison after giving birth? Has the jail a special facility for a newborn and the mother (some prisons do!)? Will they be away from the general prison population?
If the mother will be in one or two month after birth, and the prison has a special facility away from the general population, then it would be alright. Many women prisons are equipped with such facilities for that purpose.

This is not right because if the baby is above 5 years old than that is bad environment for that baby. If baby is less than 5 years old than he/she should be with his mother and mother should be kept in a women society not a jail. Because she will be care very well.

As per the Rules & Law a woman can keep her breast-feeding baby with her in the Jail. Her Advocate can arrange the Court order for this. o.k.

NO. A baby needs a quiet, calm, nurturing environment with caring, mentally stable people who are capable of caring for it. This baby would be better off somewhere else. Anywhere but prison!!

Absolutely NOT. Inside a jail cell is NO place for a baby.

She should be able to keep the baby.
I think in that situation they need to rethink her sentance instead of keeping the kid in jail, though I suppose it could be done under the right conditions.
