2 Na (s) + 2 H2O (l) --> 2 NaOH (aq) + H2 (g)

The metallic Sodium is being oxidized and is the reducing agent.

Potassium has a lower ionization potential than Sodium and so tends to react faster.

2 Na (s) + 2 H2O (l) → 2 Na+ 2OH- (aq) + H2 (g)
so... remember o.i.l.r.i.g.
oxidation loses and reduction gains (electrons that is)
Na is being oxidised because it loses an electron turning into an ion, which also means that Na is the reducing agent

K will react faster than Na. if you look at your reactivity series, you'll see that K is the most reactive, so it will react faster.
