My name is Mary. How much plainer is that? Kids would always ask me if I were the Virgin Mary.....Hated that!!!!

In my 37 years, I have only once met someone with the same name as mine. My name is not only scarce, but also difficult to pronounce, spell and remember. And everybody always wants to know where my name comes from and I have no idea. (Somebody just asked me again a few minutes ago.)
Up to now, I could not find any detail about my name or what it means. Therefore I used to not like my name. Perhaps I felt like nobody having no-ones name with no meaning?
But I have made peace with my name and I have accepted it now. I have decided to give my own meaning to it!!

I have a name that is fairly common, it is Debra. I love my name and wouldn't dream of changing it. Debra (also spelled Deborah) was a prophet who judged Isreal in the bible. I believe the name and the person I was named behind it shows strength and strong character.

I like my name so much that I'm gonna name my kids after me, that way I can create a dynasty, my father and I have the same name so my kid's name would have the III added to it, and so forth.
