If you have children, the answer is definitely no. You stay with the person you don't love, out of love for your children.
If you don't have children, the answer is hang in there and you might be surprised. Go talk to some people who have been married 50+ years. The majority will tell you they have fallen in and out of love with their spouse many times. What kept them there the 1st time there was no love, was commitment, as well as children, shared finances, etc. When the love returned, it was not only a nice surprise, but also more wonderful and deeper than the original love which motivated the couple to marry. So, the subsequent times the love faded, the couple stayed together in anticipation of better things to come...and the love always came back. It's true, go ahead and find some old people and take a poll! When you take your marriage vows seriously, you will indeed be rewarded.

I saw an interview with a couple that had been married for almost 70 years. The reporter asked them 'How have you managed to stay together so long?' They replied with this 'We never fell out of love with each other at the same time.'
They explained that both at some stage had not loved the other. They did work through it. I think falling out of love and back in can happen.
Marriage is not easy. If things are truly that bad I would consider couples counselling first and take it from there. If both of you are no longer in love I don't know where to go from there.
All the best to you. I hope you figure things out. Good luck.

Yes,love is the reason we get married in the first place.
We love that person so much that we can't stand the thought of not being around them as much as we can and for the rest of our lives.
We should feel as though our lives aren't complete without that person.
We should compliment each other.
To stay in a marriage that does not contain love can cause more damage than good because in the end we not only are not in love then we become angry and resentful and things get said that can't be taken back and hurt deeply.
Are you sure that there isn't any love left?
Sometimes we think we have fallen out of love when in reality we have just gotten comfortable with our situation and we quit working on the minor details that keep the love alive.
Is counseling a possibility?

In our current society, romantic love is the main reason people get married. In the past, marriage was primarily a political arrangement among upper class, nobility and royalty.

Marriage is a legal binding together of a man and a woman. To "divorce" is to disolve that legal bond. Divorce can be achieved for any reason, including irreconcilable differences, whatever that may mean.

Not loving someone could be an irreconcilable difference.

Should you? "Should" is a value judgment.

Your call.

If you didn't love him, why did you marry him in the 1st place. If you once loved him, with time and work, you might love him again. Unless he has absused you or cant keep his fly zipped, if I were you I would try to figure out if I would be better off with him or without him. Some ?? to ask yourself would be (1) Even it I no longer love him, do I enjoy spending time with him (2) Would my standards of living go way down (3) Is there anyone that would be hurt by our divorce. (4) Is there a chance that I could learn to love him, again, if both of us work at it.

You know "the other reason" is something only you know, so no one really knows what's going on. How does he feel? Is it mutual? Are there kids? How long have you been married. You could just be angry at one particular thing, or you might never have loved him at all. Sometimes you LIKE something about someone so much you just know it has to be love. If I were you I would be 100% sure before making any arrangements.

A lot of people would say yes. I would say it would totally depend on why you don't love them. If the love just faded, I wouldn't think it would be right to leave them. It was the fault of the two, and maybe with some help something can change. If the guy cheated on the chick and she 'forgave' him but just can't love him anymore, then definitely divorce. It's not worth trying to fight for something that he ruined.

Yes if you are married to someone that you just don't love anymore then yes I say it would be a good reason so the two of you could find and be with people that you love and like to be around but remember once you make the decision it is final those words can't be unsaid.

If you do not love your spouse you should get divorced.

One of the most important factors in a marriage is love. You need to love your spouse or every one of their imperfections will bother you.

You need to find a spouse who you are friends with and you need to be lovers as well. If you are missing either one of these your marriage will be difficult at best and will most likely fail.

The divorce rates are so high today because people are too quick to marry people that they do not know well enough.

Take care,
Troy

Never try and make it work in a relationship where the love is not mutual..everyone suffers in a horrible way, not just the couple, but the kids/parents/siblings/the ENTIRE FAMILY...

You have to be fair and give each other the chance to go seperate ways and find another person who truely loves them and wants to be with them..

o ..Get Divorced, why suffer/make others suffer any longer..
