There was some real boxing if memory serves. Stallone actually had to spend time in the hospital, thanks to the punches of Dolph Lungren.

Sylvester Stallone did get to spare with Mohammed Ali once though. He said, "No matter which way I ducked my head, Ali's fist was there to greet it".
