You need to make sure this is known before you get there.

If you give a formal invitation they might assume you are taking them out.

If you just say. I am going here. wanna joins us?

That is more casual and the people shouldn't assume that you will be paying.

You can just invite them like this "Maybe we can all meet and go out out for lunch together, catch up on old times" Or something along those lines. It's not normal for people to assume that they're being paid for unless you say something like "Let's go out to lunch, my treat"

request that everyone plz pay for themselves because it would be very difficult for you to pay for everyone at this time if some of them get upset then explain to them that you would be more than happy to buy them anything at all from the desert menu

how about asking them to bring certain foods?? like someone brings the mashed potatoe and the other brings the rice?
