Since the BCS is weighed so heavily on the games later in the season will OSU and UM have to play against each other earlier in their seasons to be able to both be in the national contention at seasons end. Their is no talk about the "best" one loss team being either Michigan or Ohio State. Would OSU and UM playing in say week 5 or earlier help if this situation ever arises again in any confrence especially BCS confrences?

It very well could but it is the best rivalry and there is so much tradition with it being the last game of the year.
The build up around it just grows all year and to see them on a collision course to #1 this year has been incredible. It could help but it won't happen.

First of all-they should play again. They are in a class all by themselves. USC? No way-USC can't play with them-I look for USC to lose again. Florida would lose to Ohio State or Michigan by atleast 17 points. In a weak football year collegiately, OSU and Michigan are hands down undisputedly the best 2 teams in the country-nobody is close. And as far as the guy above--God does love the Gators-that's why he won't let them play the OSU Buckeyes...it would be a sacrifice of immense proportions.

Of course it would, Notre Dame is the best example here. They are number 5 playing 3. If they win and florida doesn't blow out the SEC championship, Notre Dame will make the final game. The lost in week 2 and had the stretch to go back to 2.

I think they are the two best teams, but should not play again in the BCS. It will devalue this weeks game, while rewarding the losing team by giving them another shot, and punish the winner by making them beat the same team twice.

No not really. Besides, that would take away a lot of the importance of that game.

It's possible this year that the loser may still end up at number 2. They're both way ahead of USC.

No they won't play each other again this season unless an act of God happens. And everyone knows God loves the Gators more than He does the (insert team name here).

No rematches for the identify, you may want to favor them to play two times extra to truly see who the more effective crew is. speaking of Texas they're getting uncovered today as yet another one loss crew that padded its agenda with losers to compete for the identify.

uhhhhh.....I think they are both in contention at season's end. they decide their differences Saturday. No reason to have them meet again in a month.
