I'm sure we can all agree that Angela Bassett is one the most gifted and brilliant actresses of our time. I call her the Queen of acting, but even with all her talent and her Oscar nod we still dont see her on screen or even television very often. The gap between her movie releases is getting wider with every year after the 90s.
What does she need to do to get that well deserved Oscar?? What kind of roles should she take? What steps should she take in Hollywood?? Does Angela really have to create some wild debacle and get her name in the papers to win an Oscar??
I'm really just looking for hope. Its just a shame how incredibly genius Angela is at her craft yet she has to wait years at a time to find the right role. I miss her like hell. Anybody have any suggestions on how we can bring her back??

She just needs a moving, starring role. I agree she and Alfrie Woodard are probably the two greatest, most under appreciated actresses of our time. Crooklyn was on today and I was mesmerized.
Angela stars in "Toussaint" which comes out next year. Start buzzing about it.

Oscars are not that important. They are just popularity contests and the winners are not always the best actors. If that wasn't true Cher would not have one. She is an amazing actress and she is probably really choosy about the roles that she takes now.

She just has to appeal to a different crowd. Her roles are usually a caring mother, battered wife, or a strong slave. I think playing a villain or in a major cast production (ocean eleven type) of some sort might raise some eyebrows.
