our troops did no like nor respect Rumsfield and for good cause he was indifferent about our troops and he did not do a good job and should have left long ago,I just hope this new congress and the man who replaced Rumsfield will give our men the go ahead and let them root out the Taliban and hop fully kill them, if they don't the Muslims will be on our door step very shortly , remember what the Taliban leader said about how they were going to destroy the white house? if the don't give our men the authority I do hope they get them all at the white house, instead of our families

He was terminated because he was totally incompetent, I mean really do you promote a fry boy when he burns the fries. Honestly, all you idealogues who so support Bush can you honestly say Rumsfield was doing a good job?? Making the Iraq adventure a total disaster is not a good job by any means.

its was all a ploy for the elections.

the masses were screaming to remove him and Bush knew he had to do it....specially if the Dem's took office. Since they got office he kicked him out in attempts to save his own skin some.

Personally he should of been removed over a yr ago when he attempted to turn in his papers....cause once a person tries to quit but is talked into staying.....they really aren't there 100% and all it does is cause damage. Gee....look around us and you'll see that statement is right.

It was the tough crowd.

I think the guy just had enough, and I'm talking about the American reporters at the press conferences. Isn't he in his 70's?

Dealing with terrorism and the US military was a piece of cake compared to that!

He got fired. All of the military newspapers demanded his resignation. He is responsible for bungling the war.

1st you screamed for him to leave. Now that he's resigned, you're screaming about that. Make up your mind. Is it possible to make you happy?
