UMUC is a very good option for someone who doesn't have time to devote to a traditional graduate degree program. The school is run by many of the same faculty and administrators that University of Maryland College Park. Heck the schools are right next to one another. While the degree won't have the same prestige that a UMD degree carries, it's still a quality education. Which is more than I can say for the University of Phoenix and schools like it.

You should also consider doing your masters at University of Maryland at College Park. I think UMD is a better school for any masters degree than UMUC.

Depends on the field. In some fields, they have a good rep, in others, not so much. I know one faculty member who teaches there and imho would not recommend any association with the guy. But you could be there for your entire Master's and never encounter him. Do your research, ask lots of questions from those already established in your chosen field. Good luck!

You are going to have to give us more information to comment in a helpful manner. What are the alternatives? Is your question whether you should pursue a Master's at all? Or is the question about where in particular you should pursue a Master's degree?
