NO!
I never heard that.
I do it all the time and my PC works like new.
It also says you can't fefragment when its not ready to.

No. But you should backup your computer often. If you don't and you need to restore your files you'll end up restoring it to the state it was in before the last defrag.

most confuse defrag as a way to clean up space, remove spam and other items.

all it does is reorganize the tracks on the hard drive so the contents are more bunched together.

unless you do massive downloads and then removals from the computer, there is no need to defrag often.

run the test and it will say if it needs it....if it doesn't...don't do it, just a waste of time and thought.

No but you can waste a lot of time doing that excessive defragging.

Don't forget that if you change a file the defrag will restart so you wasted all that time before the change.

If you try to defrag before your computer need it, it usually tells you that you don't need to defrag.

It does cause wear on the drive. You really shouldn't have to do it unless you store and erase large quantities of files; or once a month, if that often.

I doubt it. But you shouldn't need to be doing it all the time anyway.
