People against gay marriage are close-minded individuals that don't know how to mind their own business and like to tell other people what to do...like who to fall in love with etc. If it doesn't affect or have anything to do with them then why do they think they get a say in it? I haven't the slightest idea.

People consider it wrong for a few reasons, in which none of them are valid. People consider it to be wrong because for many people it makes them feel weird. And when people are uncomfortable they repell. The bottom line is there are no good arguments against gay marriage. All of the arguments have huge pitfalls and lack good reasoning. Im a firm believer in god and entirely straight, but who cares if man and man, woman and woman wish to be wed, it does not hurt anyone. People will be gay together whether they are "married" or not. Gay marriages compromise absolutely nothing except for people's subjective feelings towards homosexuality. Therefore, it should be good to go...

And in response to the claim above me, God doesnt destroy things, people destroy things. No where in the bible does it claim homosexuality is a sin. Your claim "those of us who believe in God and know he is real" is nice, except the God I believe and "know" is real is non-judgmental, compassionate and loving...whats more like the real case...a higher divine power who is all pissed off and egotistical, or a higher divine power with infinite patience and love?

Because some people have nothing better to do with their time than to make other people act the same way they do. It is as if they want the world to be all the same. Dull... It is no ones business but mine and It is a shame that people have to deny others their Rights of Life, liberty and the persuade of happiness.

Marriage was designed from the beginning, from the very first marriage to be a man a woman joining together and starting a family. Biologically, this is clear. Bodies are designed so that it is obvious. Its really unbelievable that homosexuals want to "re-define" what marriage and family is. It undermines the true meaning. I don't think they should be discriminated against or hated, but this goes over the line. And in any culture society DOES dictate what kind of civilization they want to have. Its been that way, always and everywhere. The American people have spoken, they DO NOT want gay marriage. And your wrong if you don't think it any ones business. As a citizen of this country, which was founded and built on judeo-Christian ethics, I still have a right to express my opinion, it IS my business.

It depends how you define marriage. Why get married at all if you don't consider it a vow in the eyes of God. You can just live with someone and cooperate with them. As for what most people consider marriage to be, I don't think it's valid between two people of the same sex as they cannot produce offspring, and I don't think that's the kind of marriage God was talking about, it doesn't talk about gay couples living in harmony in the Bible.

I think it's because it scares them; they don't understand it because it is not something that they would ever do. The opposite side is with the extremists (Fred Phelps, etc.), who are afraid that if they don't fight it, then they will have to admit that they are homosexual, even though they were raised to believe it was wrong.

I find nothing wrong with it. I hope that in 30 years, kids will read about the gay rights movement and wonder what the big deal was, as we did with the civil rights movement.

When I was younger I am sure that the same percent of gays were around as now but they had more sence to be quiet about their sexual preferances. I am sure then if 2 people "loved" each other and they were from the same sex they were together. They didn't try to ram it down our throats like you do today. Example Jerusalem is a holy city and gays from all over the world came to Jerusalem to have a gay parade, Why not TelAviv You say you are an aeteist so what do you care about a wedding for> When I was married the clergyman who preformed the ceromony said, You promise before God and this congregation etc You don't believe You don't need it. Sorry marry yourselves but it won't be a legal ceromony but it will be binding for the 2 of you and in the long run isn't that what is important

Gay marriage is banned because it was forbidden by the Pope in the 10th century, until them it was perfectly acceptable throughout Europe, it still is in many cultures world wide.

Gay marriage is wrong because it is a sin against God. The bible clearly states in Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: It is an abomination. It also states in Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

The world is messed up because people do not fear God. Sin is sin and sin is wrong. Gay marriage is wrong because it is a sin against God. For those individuals who are in a gay relationship they better repent and repent quickly or else they will spend eternity burning in fire and brimstone. God bless
