1 GB = 1024 MB
For everything computer related we count with base 2 numbers and for file sizes follow something similar to a metric measurement system. For this reason everysize is 1000 units more than the previous one, but since 1000 is not an even multiple or 2 (our base system) we are using 2^10 or 1024 the closest unit.

1GB is 1,024 MB's according to a computer. That is 2 to the power of 10 (2^10).
Some manufacturers use 1000 MB to mark their devices as 1 GB.
