If you don't want to download a full program, you can use an online scanner. Kaspersky has one of the highest detection rates of any anti-virus. It is consistently ranked among the number one anti-virus programs by AV-Comparitives, an independent anti-virus testing site. Here's the link to the scanner:

My advice though is to run a real time AV program that will help prevent viruses from getting into your system in the first place.
As mentioned AVG is a great free program.

Mcafee.com has a good free virus scan....i would recommend using it because there are some other free scans that will say you have a virus just so you will buy their product. I also recommend you get anti virus and spyware software soon. I have Defender Pro 15-in-1 and it works great, just as good as Mcafee or Norton at a lower price and in my opinion is easier to use and has more options

http://www.avast.com has a great FREE program. If you want something that'll check for viruses quickly, you're not really getting a complete and comprehensive virus check done.
