Well...you could certainly make a point for Marino, but he didnt have the rings. You could make a point for Favre, but he only has 1 ring and probably wont finish with too many records. You cant really say its Brady because 1.) hes still too young to judge him and 2.) he has always been about the team around him. If you look at this year, he has struggled with no WRs. The Pats are winning because of their running game. But anyway, thats not the point here.
I think the only QB you can really compare is John Elway. Elway was the next generation Mr. Clutch, holding the record for most 4th quarter comebacks. He was responsible for "The Drive" (if you dont know what that is ask a Browns fan). For almost every record Marino doesnt hold, Elway does. For the records Marino does hold, Elway is #2 or #3. Had Elway played 1 more year he probably would have had a 3rd ring. Not to mention, Elway single-handedly turned the Broncos into a Super Bowl contender every year. The Broncos success today is because of the tone Elway set during his playing days.
Is Montana the best ever? Possibly? But if he isnt, I think people need to start giving that honor to #7.

It depends on what you mean by better. If you are referring to statistics such as total yardage, passing yards and career touchdowns, then there are most certainly better quaterbacks. However, if you are referring to Superbowl wins and Superbowl MVP awards- then Joe Montana is the best.
Joe Montana- Superbowl Wins: 4 (tied with Bradshaw)
Superbowl MVPs: 3

For winning the big games, nobody was better than Joe! Tom Brady may be my generation's clutch qb, but he's certainly no Montana.

He was great, but it's hard not to be, throwing to the guys that he was. I mean, Rice didn't really need an accurate quarterback to catch the ball, now did he??
I am going to make that first girl puke - Marino is pretty great. Unitas is my pick for the best.
(my husband is sitting here naming just about every quarterback that comes into his mind. I will spare you all the list, for some of them are just making me laugh. . .)

I think Joe was about as good as it gets along with Unitas and before him Otto Graham who won the most championships well before there were Super Bowls.
