You can go the bolt-on route and get a few more ponies and it will feel a little quicker. I'm not sure of your budget, but if you can swing it, I would put in a higher stall and more efficient torque converter. It will cost some $$$, but the car will feel totally different. I have been drag racing automatic cars since 2000 from a 10 second turbocharged 99 GT auto to the 87 Grand National sitting in my garage. I'm a big fan of automatics and they really come alive with a better converter. A 2,800 - 3,000 stall converter and drag radials and it will be night and day.

i say balls to the wall you could spend $350 on exaust and $150 on a k&n fipk kit. or spend the same $500 and get a 100hp NOS kit. when i was in shcool at hot rod u we had a 96 z28 with 125 shot that on the dyno actually put closer to 150hp at the wheels. thats all that car was used for was nitrous testing so don't let anyone tell you your going to blow it up (unless you try to put a 250shot on it) the LT1 can handle it very well, and an idiot can install a dry nitrous kit. good luck

headers, catback, 8mm spiral core wires, acell spark module, do not get the bosch +4 plugs those mess with a chevy ignition. if you want performance plugs get some denso's. your trans is a 4l60e get a shift kit installed those things are great if you get them running right. and the shift kit can be installed with the trans still in the car.... also change your gears right now you have a 3.23 rear end gear. i would recomend a 3.73 if you really wanna feel the diffrence or a 3.42 if you still wanna keep good gas mileage. check out www.texasfbody.org if you want some more info. the guys on that site really know thier stuff. i should know im one of them. gapimpin

without out no info on what you already got going on in there = about 450$, you can put a supercharger kit on it and boost the fuel. If you have an LS2 you can get +/- 475 - 480 hp with this simple 8-10hr. project. If you've already got stuff going, look for 495-540 HP.

you recognize, people may be so down on someone searching for loose horsepower! do not run without an air filter out (undesirable, undesirable, undesirable idea). besides the undeniable fact that, look up the "throttle body coolant pass" for the LT1 - with a touch manipulation, hose clamps and area of hose, you may pass the coolant line ensuing in the throttle body. except you force it contained in the bitter, bitter chilly, the nice and cozy temperature going to the TB will purely sap horsepower. This trick on my own is virtually loose (in case you scrounge the parts), and is easily worth 5 horsepower. next, once you're bold, you may VERY intently use a dremel to get rid of the ridges on the area of the MAF - they're an obstacle to the smooth airflow. best wager is to apply a grinding stone to kick off the extremely severe stuff, then comfortable it out with a 220 grit sanding drum. Did I say be careful? do not ruin your sensor or wires. sparkling each and every thing up thoroughly with carb cleanser, being confident to rid your self of all the flash you purely sanded off. The horsepower develop is unknown to me, besides the undeniable fact that it may help you your authentic end bypass - plus it extremely works pleased with a TB airfoil and chilly air equipment (that you'll purchase one after the different). those are the freebies. each and every thing else expenditures something. Oh yeah - in case you want to get rid of the "pass shift" option (on your six % guide, once you've it), you may spend about a dollar for a resistor, and bounce the terminals on the trans (prevents the examine engine gentle). It receives rid of the intrusive 1st to 4th pass shift that replaced into placed there to promote gas monetary device. tremendous for those cases the position you got here out of 1st genuine smooth, yet keen to stomp on it - purely to locate your Camaro has grow to be your worst enemy by locking out second and third.

I had a chevy ss silverado until I had kids, I put a magnaflow on it for horsepower and then switched to a borla for more hp. I put a chip and it, and got about 5 more horses. you can take it to a machine shop and replace the cams and lifters with bigger ones. you would have to make space. air intake. hood scoop would be nice looking, but a waste.
